When they give you something that doesn’t make sense, similar to none to what you’re doing, etc. What’s your favorite way to respond?

Right now the Shipping Streaks incentives people to ship every day. Shipping often is a good habit, but doing so for weeks in a row without rest is unhealthy. Some people log non-work activities, but that feels like a hack and leads to spammy todos. Maybe we can redesign the streak. It should s...

Swift apps, not Electron.

Hi 👋 You probably don't know me, but I'm a baby maker here on WIP. Started some projects, and took me some time to make my first $$$. I just wanted to share some personal recommendations, some tips I wish I had before I start my journey as a Maker : - Find a problem, not an idea - Don't spend...

Not sure how many people we have here dealing with this situation but would love to know your approach on that.  Here are some questions in my mind: How do you keep up the motivation for your side-projects? When do you work on your side-projects? Tools that help you to manage your time? etc.

When it comes to product development and deciding what to work on next, I have never really followed a specific methodology. I just fixed the bugs that seemed the most annoying, and built the features I thought people wanted. That kinda works, but I'm always wondering: is this really the thing I...

Hey everyone my name is Travis, I'm a 20+ year full stack developer and have been a solopreneuer/freelancer for the better part of 10 of that. A couple years ago I exited for 7 figures and took a break from software engineering to chase my dream of owning/operating a legal cannabis cultivation b...

[JobBoardSearch-revenue-in-U-D-Google-Sheets-08-04-2026_03_28_PM.png] Finally #jobboardsearch is a 6 figures project 🥳

How would you feel about WIP members making a product similar to yours? Would you remix an existing WIP product that doesn't suit your need? No ideas are original, everything is a remix... right? 😄 I think that competition is inevitable in any market worth pursuing. Being mad and stressed out ab...

What are you working on these days? First off, thanks for the invite. Have been looking for some places to hang out that aren't X. I'm working on mentorcruise.com mainly. I've started the community in 2018 and was finally able to go full-time in 2022. What can the WIP community help you with...

What helped you the most and what was a time waste?

From what I see using the GitHub search, I can find different extensions, I'm curious about how people are actually using this website? @marc, maybe you've stats about user-agents to share? Thank you!

What are you working on these days? I work as a Rails engineer, and I've been running Move, https://m0ve.app, solo w/h contractors for about 2 years now. It's an app that allows you to craft events and groups quickly with the least amount of friction. What can the WIP community help you with ...

As the title describes, when can you add the "As Seen In" badges? I've noticed a number of large companies have signed up and are using my app. In order to add badges for social proof, do you reach out to these companies and ask for permission or did you say fuck it and added them once they used ...

Hey everyone, I'd appreciate some roast for the page: https://slowandsteadyblog.com/buying-a-house-netherlands. This is a page for my eBook that I'm selling to my YouTube and blog audience with TA of expats (or sometimes locals) living in the Netherlands. It's a Guide to buying a house in the N...

I'm choosing a solution to send emails from my app. I want to send a low volume of simple emails and I want it to be cheap and low complexity and low problem causing. Sending emails from your own app has IP reputation hassles but there are external services that look promising like mailgun, mailc...

I'm currently using cron, but it does not give back an error signal and I don't know how to keep track if it worked. Ideally I would want a solution that allowed me to create a dashboard to see if my robots are still working. I know js and python  Thanks!

My question is, most makers need to eat while shipping side projects or making indie products, so where do you find contracting work? In my case, some of my work comes from word-of-mouth from previous companies or networking I've done Some other ones I pitch to, mostly early-stage (funded) start...

Going to Paris for a few days, I thought I'd try to contact some people shown on the map in the area: https://wip.co/makers/map Checking all 30 accounts I could find, I realized, a lot of them have become inactive, with no recent posts and deleted Telegram and Twitter accounts. That made the sea...
