Intro
Hi! I'm Thijs, a product manager who wants to quit his job and start building fun things.
What are you working on these days?
I was searching for land to buy so that I could build a small cabin, grow vegetables, and have cute animals running around. However, the search for land has been frustrating. Most websites have horrible translations, and connecting with an agency is slow and tiresome. Also none of those websites provide information on e.g. "good farmland," which I think could be valuable for people searching for land.
So that's why I'm building Homestead List with some friends. An app that lets people search for their dream off-grid homestead.
With the same group of friends I'm starting a dev agency. I'll share our ups- and downs along the process.

What can the WIP community help you with right now?
I think the hands on approach of this community is really inspiring and helps me a lot in the process of just building instead of the "PM way" of doing that. My main issue currently is finding out what people in the off-grid/homestead community want. I posted some surveys on forums and only got a couple of replies. Which makes total sense because most people hate doing surveys. Maybe the WIP community knows better ways to talk with potential customers.
What can you help others with?
I'm really focused on what customers want. Building the right things is important I believe. I like using analytics to find out how people navigate a product. Hopefully I can share some interesting stuff that people find useful.
Something else you want to share?
I like cats, hiking and reading. My goal is to live off-grid, lying in a hammock, reading a book while 9000 cats run around on my property.

Ah this is an awesome idea - I'd use it (also for land that's shareable)!
Nice! Means a lot, I am still validating the idea. Maybe I can add a filter for land that is suited for sharing 🤔
