my goal this week was to research and renew 60 backlinks from my SEO Kickstarter guide - turns out I overdo every single of them and it takes me 30m to 60m to research and rewrite the entries. Only 40 done so far despite investing 3 full days.
analyzed peerlist and thehiveindex.com for backlink opportunities - wrote a new entry for both for my SEO Kickstarter v2 list (both above 200 words, took me around 1h each)
backlink research: found a way to see how much DR impact a backlink will have (useful e.g. when considering buying a backlink or writing a guest post)
wrote howtos for github and yourstory backlinks - progress is WAY SLOWER than expected but as long as there is progress I'm going to enjoy this
analyzed which backlinks you get when hitting producthunt top 5
rewrote the produchunt backlink guide, realizing how much research I already did on this one which I can just write down

render note field as markdown #seokickstarter
migrated my first SEO Kickstarter v1 entry into v2
document my complicated research data flow as a mermaid flowchard directly in markdown - was a bliss!
Stopping a research after it didn't work for 2h. Last time this took me 1w - I feel like I'm doing progress :)
Finished backlink analysis for "smaller DR jumps" (to extend my SEO Kickstarter with "likely DR jump for your domain"
created a todo list for the next few days - super helpful when side-building: Think in a quiet minute, then hack in all those small inbetween times
after having realized I just wasted 1 week of effort I switched to work "from the customers end" now and delaying any research work until it's absolutely needed
trying to find a better data science model for backlink analysis - spent around 16h for a promising new version - which turns out is worse than before 🙁
created a way to ask people for their phone number and identity document in case when it's not clear if a shared flat listing is fraud or not - weegee.ch
