I often have an idea about something, I get too excited about it and start to work on it, only to later find out that the idea isn't as good as I thought. โ€” How to avoid/reduce mistakes like these?
E.g. you have a subscription based SaaS but want to sell a one-month advertisement spot on your website. If you do, what was your specific situation? Disclaimer: Iโ€™m working on a product that allows this and am trying to find more use cases (and testers!)

Me and @nadine_bejou were discussing the idea of having a way to set and track your goals on WIP. Before we dive into the feature though, I'd like to get a better sense of how all of you are setting goals (if any?), what kind of goals, how you measure them, whether you set a deadline, etc.
You might get excited about a feature and start building a basic MVP of it & launch, which would simply die if it doesn't get traction. If you can wait for the community to be larger, then it would have a better chance of gaining traction, which you would miss out on, if you were to execute it e...
