I don't post here for engagement. Just to share updates, see what others are up to, and conversations will take place either offline, via the telegram group, or off platform.

Also, I think a lot of people also post their updates without accessing the platform, via the wip extension for mac, or via the telegram bot

which mac extension?

TIL thanks!

Well... It didn't seem to work. Auth doesn't seem to happen right. Same problem as here github.com/marckohlbrugge/wip…

ah yes -- it looks like it's no longer active.

Marc is pointing towards the Raycast extension now: www.raycast.com/marckohlbrugg…

I haven't tried this yet

Make it paid.

But, onboard 5 users for free, message them directly -- get a review from each so you can slap that on your homepage to help you convert new clients.

I'm not the target market, but this looks solid. I can see where you're coming from.

I would push this into "parenting" groups on reddit and other socials to get users + feedback.

Also, if you create an account for this, and start commenting on other influencer pagers targeting family/parenting content, you could drive some interest. One page that comes to mind is "saveyoursons".

  1. is "plotting software" a known term? -- if not I would scrap your current tagline and headline with something more descriptive like:

"write stories in seconds
THE MOST POWERFUL CREATIVE WRITING APP"

  1. I'd put the user reviews where the "multi-platform" section is

  2. I'd amplify the problem/pain point a bit more , before introducing the "in short -- how to organize the mess in your head" section. Show the user what is the before and after they use the app.

  3. Pricing section needs a clear CTA -- "Create Account" or "sign up now"

Hey there! Thank you so much for taking the time to have a look at my landing page. Much appreciated.
1. Plotting is a very general term for authors, but it might not be for new authors, I will look into something more generic.
Regarding 2, 3, and 4, I fully agree with you on these points and switch things up a bit!

I don't care too much about the debate. Has their model evolved and gone into the wrong direction? Potentially. Should we throw stones at them until they fix it? Nah. It's fine if they die.

I'm more excited about the new builds that will bridge the gap for indie makers. I think @marc will potentially do something with BetaList, and Dragobert is building LaunchDay: x.com/dagorenouf/status/18407…

woah the replies on that dogobert thread are insane, so many alternatives, surely one will make it !

Yeah, I’m actually excited for that launch haha

I'm genuinely surprised there hasn't been a competitor sooner. This looks like a train wreck, and worst, it seems like they're not being transparent on what the criteria is to get featured (except throw a lot of money at PH or game the system).

Anyway, I love seeing it when a competitor surfaces to either make the original level up and get its shit together or die a painful death.

Either way, I've got popcorn ready.

I think there have been lots of competitors, but they don't really stick cos it's a huge job to make something new and then keep people engaged, and then keep out spammers too!
haha yeah good entertainment 🍿, first time I've been engaged in maker stuff on twitter for ages

/r/startups is a good one, but don't place any links. Their mods are brutal.

Yeah, most subreddits have bots that auto-delete any post/comment with links or anything that slightly resembles promotion, even if it's not direct. Most don't even allow people to say "message" or "DM."

It's a mine field out there.

That is very good pricing. Even self-service options like Turbo Tax are about $500 per entity
