And any other subreddit if you're willing to be sneaky. I've hidden a link in the middle of a long post before and the mods didn't catch it.
You can also post a free blog article from your website and hope that it drives traffic to your main product (those are generally acceptable on any subreddit)
Thanks man - I don't think I've tried SideProject before
What do you mean by friendly to post?
All subreddits are unless you are trying to do promotional stuff/spam.
Are you looking for founder communities or a way to promote products?
/r/startups is a good one, but don't place any links. Their mods are brutal.
Yeah, most subreddits have bots that auto-delete any post/comment with links or anything that slightly resembles promotion, even if it's not direct. Most don't even allow people to say "message" or "DM."
It's a mine field out there.
I see you're also a ghostwriter. Me too!
These are good subreddits as well.

I've gotten several marketing, editing, and ghostwriting clients + Substack and community members from Reddit before, and there are definitely subreddits that allow promotion, within reason.
Maybe it's obvious, but I also recommend Quora if you're looking for ghostwriting clients. Also recommend to sign up for both HARO and Qwoted to get quoted as an expert in articles (and get a sweet backlink in the process). I've gotten clients through this as well.
Those take way longer than just cold emailing/pitching (my favorite) and posting on Twitter and/or Threads.
(I've gotten freelance writing clients from posting the most feral, unhinged Star Trek stuff on Twitter when I was just trying to scream into the void. Apparently SaaS founders are huge geeks. Who'd've guessed 😹)
It goes without saying that all these methods are great if you're driving traffic to a SaaS or digital product as well! You'd just need to switch up your language to fit your target market & strategy, but that's simple enough.
