Looking at tools like Viral Loop and ReferralCandy to gate access to encourage folks to invite their friends in order to unlock access to our product. Need to be able to set/get an affiliate code per user via API — and then track the referral signups they send us, as well as show their progress...

Do you find that founding WIP has made you more productive in regards to shipping?

I have user constantly asking me to put my app(s) on AppSumo. I don't like it as it feels like a sellout and is not sustainable but am I missing anything here? Could there actually be an advantage (for indie makers)? Marketing wise or other?
