This would be useful when people already have an agenda like learning JS or building some habit etc. Everyone just shares their journey. The more specific the group, the better they can share their journey.
I have seen some people using different ways to track different parameters like sleep, fast etc. I think the important value of this project is not how the users are entering the data but how you are going to show/visualise the data. You can have a better chance of convincing the users if they can see different visualisation of their activities.
In one sentence, you are not only helping the users enter the data in an easy way but also helping them get the hidden insights of their activities by showing them different visualisations of that data.
I am a part of MicroConf Mastermind group. Basically, we have to make each other accountable. The only medium is email. For us, this site would be really useful. All the best on this project.
I think it is cool idea. If I were working on this, I'd build a newsletter to validate this idea and also to build a community. Based on the responses, I'll decide whether to build a full fledged website for this.
Based on what I heard transistor.fm/ is great for hosting and distributing podcasts. They have analytics, embedding, and built in website feature also. I think it might be useful for you.
I will be in Germany temporarily(1-2 years) doing a full-time job. I think incorporating it in Singapore or India (my home country) would be a better option, I think. I am worried about any tax problems in Germany for my side project though.
Right. It might be worth speaking to a Steuerberater (tax-advisor) for advice. I can recommend an English speaking one I used. I paid him €100 for 1 hour and prepared a lot of questions beforehand, so it was definitely worth it.
