Based on your landing page, I saw you are targeting developers who don't want to mess up with a tool like Coolify.
I would ask this question before going further:
- What can stop those devs from spinning up their own Coolify? Because most of the devs love toying with things.
- If there is no reason to stop them, is there anyone else who would benefit from indiehost? By adding this or removing that?
Personally, I'm using Kamal to deploy Rails apps, so I'm not your target audience. But probably many others would! You just have to find your ideal customer profile.
Good luck, Stuart! :)
I second Kamal.
Second this!
Itโs more of an awareness instead of an organizational problem.
When you feel overwhelmed with something (not only browser tabs), take a step back and question whether or not what youโre thinking is essential or valuable.
Most of the time itโs not.
Thatโs how I keep my tabs just enough.
If your goal is learning, it's totally great to learn new thing. Otherwise, I'd just learn whatever is enough.
In my opinion you don't need to delete the post. Stay with it. ๐
Competition is inevitable, so is the bad ethics. The best way to encounter those acts is to be who you are. Don't get provoked. Elegantly show your value proposition and let the market judge whether or not what you sell is valuable to them.
And those that asked you a bunch of questions actually helped the exposure of values that you proposed. A good marketing I guess? ๐
Go go go Anna! ๐ฅ
Thanks for the answer! I was pretty discouraged after that incident, never thought that things like this happen. But you're right it's better than worse.
It's actually quite good that that happened! It means your competition is pretty sketchy, and we are well set now in the age of radical transparency!
This is great news for you. Double-down on being transparent and forth-coming and let the sketchy competition take care of themselves.
Hello Anna ๐๐ผ
I'm pretty sure that it's for finding online communities. Be it on Slack or Telegram. As what you've shown through the image on the right. Good job on that! ๐
However, I'm not sure who's it for. My impression is, "ah, it's for everyone." And if that's the case, I think that's okay too. Unless you've prepared a specific audience in mind.
Hope that helps! ๐๐ผ
Got it man.. ๐
The landing page needs more love indeed.
Regarding your last question โ Not yet. It only supports EN at the moment. I'll see if it's something that people really want before building it further.
Thanks Hagai! ๐
It's definitely a one-time thing. If you ask about any relation: then yes, but a little. I'm targeting creators, no-code communities, and small businesses in general. Some devs might be included, but it's like a niche of a niche.
And thanks for the reminder about LinkedIn. I never post anything there, and not sure if that's a good medium. Well, that made me think about my personal site. I probably should blog there. :)
If you want a place with lots of domain authority and existing traffic, you can also post on Medium, especially if you want to write more about that type of thing. Or your personal site, of course! :)
Someone has suggested Reddit as well ๐คญ
Oooh great idea! I didn't even think of that. Add Quora to the list, even if just to see if it'd get some traction.
Quora has been on my list, but probably not for this content. Anyway, thanks for chiming in, Cat. Appreciate your thoughts and suggestions here :)
