Would you publish content unrelated to your ICP?

Folks, let’s say you have unique technical insights that can be shared through a blog post. If your ICP is unrelated, would you still write and publish the blog under your business website? If not, what would you do instead?

How new is the site? Are you focusing on SEO as a way to boost traffic? How often do you post/update content? Is this a one-time thing or ongoing? Is there absolutely ANY relation to your business and/or ICP?

I'd probably err on the side of caution and post it as an article on LinkedIn, honestly.

It's definitely a one-time thing. If you ask about any relation: then yes, but a little. I'm targeting creators, no-code communities, and small businesses in general. Some devs might be included, but it's like a niche of a niche.

And thanks for the reminder about LinkedIn. I never post anything there, and not sure if that's a good medium. Well, that made me think about my personal site. I probably should blog there. :)

If you want a place with lots of domain authority and existing traffic, you can also post on Medium, especially if you want to write more about that type of thing. Or your personal site, of course! :)

Someone has suggested Reddit as well 🤭

Oooh great idea! I didn't even think of that. Add Quora to the list, even if just to see if it'd get some traction.

Quora has been on my list, but probably not for this content. Anyway, thanks for chiming in, Cat. Appreciate your thoughts and suggestions here :)
