Thanks @JonnyPlatt and @rikschennink for your answers! Great insights 🙏
Totally agree that focusing on goals and something that, maybe, has potential to make the life of the family better ("sustainable long term") is really important. It's great to hear that you both put the family first and something that, if I'm being honest, needs constant work. Being in the code is such a comfortable and controllable place. Much harder to control a 2 y.o 🙈

Do you guys work with your own projects/companies full time?

Me personally am a developer at a company 9 to 5 so side projects are delegated to time available beyond work and family. Which fluctuates in it's availability.

@alexanderkluge I haven’t done it by using the /done command (only via @wipbot + space and then selecting the task) but I cant imagine it should matter.
But I’ve noticed the @wipbot has been slow yesterday and this morning (CET) so perhaps that’s the reason for it not working?
Make sure you upload an image and not attach it as a file, I did that a couple of times...

Thanks for tip. I uploaded it as an image but it doesn't seem to work for me :(

For me that's sort of the point. Having side projects combined with a 9-5 and life I need something to help me make small incremental improvements that stack up over time. WIP has been the first one giving me consistency in this regard.
I agree though that I've been completing the easy ones and those improvements are really small and can feel a little pointless, looking at the big picture. I'm hoping though that those are part of the regular ebb and flow of working with the project and that, over time, it will become something great...maybe. In any case shipping something every day feels sort of like working out, it's not always great fun but you don't ever regret doing it.

I use Segment for the convenience and then route things onwards from there. But regarding what's being tracked I try (at the moment) to send as little user identifiable information to Segment as possible (hello GDPR) while at the same time tracking the main user events that I've found to be crucial, maybe that all needs to be adjusted as well and only be user_ids that's tracked.
We're currently doing a big push at work to comply with GDPR so for the side projects I'm gonna piggy back on that one's I know what the actual limits are.

Totally! Such a clear way to help the community and ones own benefits from it.
Regarding rewards I think recognition within the community is important. Free or discounted memberships is also a good motivator I think. All in all keeping all rewards inside WIP

Answered my own question by trying one more time... so yes you can and it works great 👍🏼

Regarding examples of alternative domains have a look at karma.life/en/ (which is where I work). We have the .life as our main one and it works great.
Only problem has been when telling ones email address in like a phone call. As others have said people don’t get domains outside the usual suspects.

I didn’t think it would be as powerful as it is but the Shipping Streak has me spending all saturday thinking ”What can I ship today to keep the streak going?” And that’s a great thing for keeping the momentum.
