Hi Tzuki, welcome to WIP!

What's your biggest challenge right now? How can WIP help you?

Hi Marc, our biggest challenge is marketing and raising awareness of our site at the moment.

I see. Since it's a very crowded market, I recommend finding a unique spin you can give to the product that makes it stand out from the rest.

Ideally something others are unable or unwilling to do.

Looking at other sites in tangental markets, that aren't direct competitors, might give you some ideas.

(Disclosure: I'm a small shareholder in Andrey's Web3 Jobs so I can't give away any of his secret sauce 😅)

Thank you so much for your insight -I really appreciate it. I'll have a think about how we might do that.

Oh and one more idea specific to your industry: check what the search traffic is for queries like <area> zoning license

If there's enough traffic (and it doesn't take that much), you could try a programmatic SEO long-tail strategy where you generare a ton of pages for each area people might search for. https://www.buildlimit.com/zoning-licenses-star-valley-ranch-wyoming etc

Hi William, welcome to WIP!

I don't know any property developers or real-estate communities, but perhaps I and other WIP members can come up with some ideas to help you find them.

I'm not familiar with the market so these ideas will be quite generic. But hopefully one of these will spark something useful:

  • Do you have any customers yet? Talk to them. Figure out how and where they found out about your site. Ask where they typically get their information, any communities they are part of, etc.
  • Find competitors or companies that target a similar audience. Where do they advertise? How do they find customers? Use tools like Ahrefs to find out who's linking to them.
  • Go on social media and find relevant communities. LinkedIn Groups, Reddit-subs, Facebook Groups, etc.
  • Are there any industry events or conferences you can attend? Those can be a great way to quickly meet many people. Especially if there are exhibition booths with people selling their product. They are happy to talk.

These aren't necessarily scalable ways to find customers. But they should help you get started. Once you're actively talking with people in your target market, that will help you figure out how to reach them at scale long-term.

Thank you @rrmdp for answering this :)

I should add a more prominent link to the Telegram chat somewhere on the site

The idea would be to show you your recent git commits so you can then manually write a status update. So basically just a way to trigger your memory and indeed a moment of reflection.

Summary in Telegram is a smart idea! Hadn't thought of that. Will consider if I end up implementing the feature

There's quite a few members using Gumroad:
wip.co/search?q=gumroad

But I guess the real question is whether people feel like like they are missing out on revenue, because of the apparent lacking payment methods in certain areas.

I recommend updating the question title to reflect and you might get more answers :)

Good point! Maybe their target audience does not have the problem.

Although I'd be more picky about which examples you show at the top. For example the Disney Plus one with the movie screengrab, just looks like a movie still rather than UI related.

💯 For sure! This one is firmly on my todo list
