had another #mictime session with some progress but still wasn't happy with the performance (it's a tricky one because I try to combine a calm, conversational tone with a mix of fear and joy). So that's work in progress 😉 #stolenvoice
Kind of scatterbrained today. Spent time chatting with someone who could act as a consultant if I try to develop a module for rally-the-troops.com as a way to build confidence with pure-JS UIs, as a stepping stone towards a second attempt at working on my rap-IDE idea. Also spent some time chatting back-and-forth with a local YouTuber, it looks like my concept for a video won't fit into his particular video style.
Building Studiolist (2020 Documentation) Week 2 #studiolist youtu.be/9aDbpDZz0p0
yesterday I declared a pause of #studiolist and today I coded for hours (HTML, CSS, PHP) to launch a simple version of Studio List. Intentionally, I left out graphical design elements because when I worked on them in the past I never actually shipped something. So, I’m staring with a plain-text version I like how fast it loads and pure it looks. — and the launch date today is also when I reached the 100 % streak here at WIP *yippie :)
spent bascially all day collecting and researching the stuff I want to invest in (mostly tech gear related to my 3-2-1 backup system, mobile voiceover recording and video editing equipment). That came as a surprise (like yesterday was a suprise as well). It also meant that now, at the end of the day I bascially accomplished nothing except for the walk outside and a bit of the day job. But it's ok because these investments have been in my mind for weeks now. Feeling calmer and better becasue I can put a checkmark ✅ in front of that topic 🙂 #hip

wrote my Thursday confession / 7-days review of what I got done in terms of VO biz and art, submitted my new VO performances to get pro feedback and some interaction with another VO student #stolenvoice

Building Studiolist (2020 Docu) Week 1 #studiolist - youtu.be/Yobk0nH87hs
finished editing and post-processing part 3 of the London voiceover conference 2018 footage - took longer than expected because I got picky / "perfectionistic" by adding more sound effects and smoother and more intentional transitions - it became a little film again 😉 - now exporting the file and uploading after - also got a little distracted from the editing work because I heard the Zoom H5 picking up the Canon G16 focus motor sound quite a lot - the Zoom was attached to the shoe mount of the camera with no audio absorber, that's why. So during the editing time I improved my vlogging setup by attaching both the camera and the mic seperately to the grip and tripod. Should work better. #stolenvoice
Went through my Google Tasks notes-to-myself of stuff it would be cool to make, turned my favorites into Jira projects, and removed them from Google Tasks. Next: pick one and try to come up with a summary of how an MVP could work. Removed links from WhatDo homepage for projects that don't exist (yet). Feeling super happy I set up Netlify / Dokku now that I can just push and have my changes immediately live. Spent time drafting an email to ask a YouTuber if I can do a video with him, I'm on the fence about whether I should do it.
spent a full work day finishing the course on my home-recording studio setup, starting the drip on the home studio, started and completed the course on improving my casting chances, and practiced the one commercial radio script that I want to home-run to perfection #stolenvoice
doing a live client demo and wrapping up another week of client work #revsys
Wrote out 2 new project outlines: one to essentially build a wordpress-like CMS and one to build out a social network akin to the original MySpace.
Planned out a new video showing the very most basic “full-stack” framework you could build while covering all essential concepts.
Researched and bought the right mount to mount a new screen behind my wall-mounted camera.

Left the office early and took my partner out to some much needed Indian food and Poppyfields.
Reading “How music works” (David Byrne)
Among many other things… today I set up a monitor behind my wall-mounted camera so I can look directly at the people I’m talking to for my interview series. Still loose! But test went well. Also created a lesson/exercise about file uploads. #pe
rehearse-recorded the Studio List script and realized that my new recording setup has too much room echo. So, gotta have to work on reducing the noise before I can make proper recordings for the reel. Also abandoned Reaper as my DAW/recording software (it’s just a PITA to use it for me) and choose PreSonus Studio One Prime instead #stolenvoice
weekly standup #consulting
Spent 2h with Sandra from Morning Makers Show talking about Product Analytics and PostHog. We did a deep dive on our instance and I know what to set-up/improve now! #materialitymaster
