Question
How can I make the most of WIP?
I've been on the platform a while but never been able to truly get in a rythm here.
Would love to know more about how power-users are using this platform, how it connects with your to-do list (if at all?).
Also - what are the major benefits to checking in here daily?
Please, help me get the most out of this awesome community!

I replied on Twitter but let's do it here also. What I really like is seeing a nice balance of #life stuff but also people working hard on their projects. There's no hate, no discussions, just people logging their activities and others liking/commenting.
It's nice (for myself) to work on a streak by doing work stuff but it's also nice to be able to log side projects, gym sessions, achievements and experiences.
What I would advise is to simply use the Telegram bot to log your activities and upload photos, and come around to wip.co daily to scroll through the other user's achievements. Pretty wholesome and inspiring.
Makes sense. How do you decide what to log and what not to?
I'm pretty open so I log tasks I work on for my side projects. I decided to log my gym sessions here because I post them in a Telegram group with friends so they see I've completed a session. The life part is just a diary of sorts, that I see people using here often and really liked. It's like the old days of social media where you just posted what you were up to (no staging or crafting photos) and that appeals to me. My day job is never posted and also my family stuff is minimal here.
Nice - this is really helpful - thank you for your unique perspective!
I think of it as a builder community who support each other, sharing best practices, see what other's are doing & trying & working on (quite inspiring and creative!). A group of people have similar excitements, frustrations, and really can "get" one another.
it's probably easier to find this if one live in a certain area of the world, but much harder in others? I find this place so much fun.
Really appreciate your insight. How do you mostly interact here? Is it in posting updates? Interacting with other's updates? Questions?
I don’t know I guess I’m sort of doing all of that?
I was following Pieter's posts here for years w/o having an account myself, just to try to understand his work habits so I could emulate them. I created an account b/c I don't seem to have anyone near me who I can meet up with to cowork and talk about indie hacking every day the way Pieter/Marc/Andrey/etc. had it set up in Dojo Bali, so this is the next best thing. My childhood / school friends aren't into indie hacking (or even programming) so that's not an option either. Seeing other people's progress (like Ben w/ Watchdog), especially when I've met them IRL, gives me added motivation to get something done that day, even if it's just a small step. I also block Twitter b/c I waste too much time on it, so this is a nice way to get some social experience / take a break without risking wasting a ton of time. Indie hacking is my #1 professional priority, I'd sooner work as a garbage man and do indie hacking on the side than have to work a traditional office job for the rest of my life, so I'm happy to pay to support this community.
As for how to make the most of it: get to know the individual people by meeting them IRL if you can or following them on Twitter, check out their projects, comment on their posts, like their posts. Set a goal to hit a certain streak (ideally w/o using non-indie-hacking-related posts to keep your streak going, IMO Marc should police that more).
Love this - really cool. Thank you so much!

lol - nice!
I'm still new here, but I saw that I prefer to follow people's projects rather than a person directly. I saw that people share a lot of "daily" things that I'm not interested in. Things like "eat lunch", "gone to the gym", "doing cardio"
But, in their projects profile, they share info about the projects... and I'm more interested on that. I'm sure I'm loosing some things on the "personal part" but... time is limited.
Makes sense. So you don't use the main feed, but just the following feed?
My bookmarked url is the following page: wip.co/following
I check the Questions, Roasts and Milestones to see other people. They don't put those kinds of personal things, so it may have value. Also, the Intros and Projects.
Sometimes I visit the main feed to check quick if I miss something
Maybe I need to request a roast of #journorobo - though, I am nervous about that!!!
