I honestly love phone calls.
- 30s on the phone covers 30m of text convos
- I can project tone, energy, excitement in ways I can't do with emojis

Group calls can die, though. What a waste of time!

Only when I need to schedule an appointment somewhere that doesn’t have online reservation. However I do use Telegram audio calls with people from time to time.

I can project all of those in text, but I can't in a phone call because American and Slavic cultures have different ideas of what "excited" looks like.

Emoting via writing is easier and more robust.

Follow up question!!!! How do you generally wish a closed one (family, better half) happy birthday or anniversary? Via text or call? I 100% times tend to call them!!!
