For some reasons I don't get notified of responses, so I'm really sorry to have missed this for so long. Great feedback. I'll be updating and incorporating that into the next iteration. Really appreciate you taking the time!

That's a really good idea. I do know an illustrator too. Based on yours and other people's feedback, I quickly threw together some mockups today. Got a couple up on the landing page now: perligo.io

Hi Steven,

Interesting concept. Unfortunately, I think it's buried in all the empty space on the site. You have a three-step process. That should indicate "easy" to the person visiting the site. However, because there is so much space between each step it not only feels hard, but it discourages me from continuing to scroll. Ideally, this could be a site that has everything above the fold.

Good luck!

Thanks Adriaan! I'm seeing a theme with these responses which is really great. I can work with consistent feedback!

I don't know how I missed these comments! Thank you so much for the reply. I'll be sure to address the font weights. Totally agree on the images. I'm definitely replacing those with mockups of the app itself soon.

Hey Luke! Thanks so much for this thoughtful reply. I received my MFA in creative writing a couple years ago, so this project stems from problems I saw in writing groups and getting feedback.

I do want this to be for writers of all types, but your point makes sense. It seems like it can be for any creative field. But this is really for poetry, prose, comic writers, screenwriters, non-fiction writers. I'll be sure to clarify that.

And totally agree on the illustrations. I seriously need to put some mockups together and throw those up because the illustrations are way too abstract. Thanks for the push :) And thanks for signing up!

Maybe for the illustrations draw from a funny creative writing experience you had and have an illustrator doodle a cartoon scene? Idk- i would feel like, hey this guy gets it while also letting me feel comfortable with the brand because its vulnerable.

Hi Francis! This looks like a really cool product idea. I think there's a ton of value for job-hunters (both passive and active), but probably little value for recruiters. So, what if you didn't worry about the recruiters? What if you built integrations around all the recruiting messages engineers get. They could have a central repository for managing their active search and archiving messages when they are more passive.

I don't think you should scrap the project or even drill down to a more specific niche. I think you should simply focus all your efforts on catering to the job hunter and that means finding a way to not worry about the recruiters.

Thanks so much for the detailed feedback. It echoes a lot of my gut feelings, so that's good to hear.

100% agree with Wilbert here. It's a much better test of your product, honestly, than if the competitors didn't show up. You may have even learned of competitors you previously weren't aware of. Deleting the post doesn't hurt your competitors at all. It will only hurt you if you delete.

The pricing model seems fair, but I'm not entirely sure what the app is for. Is it a form? Form for what? Is it for me to track things? Is it for building apps? If it's an alternative to Google Forms, say that and I think that's a good starting point.
