Intro
Hello, my name is David Furlong
What are you working on these days?
In my evenings and weekends I'm working on Codebird, a way for anyone in your team to change text, images and urls on your website without knowing how to code. During the day I'm the CTO and founder at Deedmob which builds volunteering community software for enterprises and local governments
What can the WIP community help you with right now?
I'm trying to become better at speaking to customers and creating value. I launched Codebird today on ProductHunt so an upvote would be much appreciated.
What can you help others with?
I've been making web apps for 10 years now, so I'm happy to help you with anything related to that. Particularly experienced with react/postgres/node/typescript/css. I've also built a team and raised money so I can share my experiences there.
Something else you want to share?
This stuff is really hard. I'm happy to listen and help you in any way I can

Hi David, welcome to WIP, and congrats on launching Codebird! 🥳
You mentioned having raised funding and building a team before. Many wippers are bootstrapped solo-founders. I'm curious to hear what your plans are for Codebird and any future products you might be working on.
Have you considered going the bootstrapped solo-founder way? Are there any unexpected pros and cons about working with team and raising outside funds?

P.S.
Cute dog!! 😍
Hey Marc!
Thanks I found myself becoming a manager and I realized I prefer crafting and building products to managing. I am currently working 4 days a week as CTO and spending the rest of the time working on codebird/other projects with the aim to ala bootstrap solo founder.
I think raising funds is necessary for some types of startups and its a fine way to go for many startups if you're not sure what you're doing. Hiring great people is a lot of work and its hard to do and expensive and I think its a mistake to try to solve problems by throwing more people at them.
Thanks for posting the links!
Unfortunately not my dog but thought people might enjoy a cute dog
Thanks for sharing your insights. Wishing you the best with your bootstrapping endeavor. Here to help if you need it!
Codebird sounds great! I’m going to try it on Monday!
Nice meeting you David! Just checked codebird, such a great idea 👍
👋 Hi Damon nice to meet you too
Two things I miss on the landing;
Sounds great especially for all those static sites out there, maybe make some special pages to talk about how it works with Jekyll or Gatsby.
Great suggestions! Could you elaborate on what you mean by how does it work? Do you mean technically or setup or something else?
Thanks Jankees :)
Technical... setup is clear from the video..👍
