Do you feel guilty if your idea is similar to another indie/solo-maker?

When I started to work on my app I felt guilty because some other indie-maker is working on something similar.

My app's focus is on something different but I need that basic feature to get valuable data and make the "USP-feature" more reliable.

So: do you feel guilty if your idea is similar to another indie/solo-maker?

Imo, in the end competition is good for business.

I've not been in this position, but I imagine I'd feel pretty guilty. However, the 2 founders probably have quite different early audiences which means the early feedback they both get could be quite different, which ultimately means 1 year down the line, the two products could end up really different anyway!

I wouldn't feel bad. I think we like to tell ourselves we have these incredible ideas that no one else has. But in reality that's probably not true. Besides, competition is inevitable in business. If it's not you, someone else will compete
