I have not done it personally, but from people I see that have (1) They build in public to attract views/engagement, and (2) legally, it would probably be cleaner for you to set up a separate legal entity; or at least keep clean records of revenue/expenses for the project. Point #2 is not a deal-breaker if not done , but easier to deal with when going through due diligence.
I only build things that I genuinely think are useful and interesting, and if other people buy those things too or someone makes me an acquisition offer because they think my products are interesting too, great.
If not, I don't care and will keep trying new things until things I like (or am interested in) line up with what the market wants.
Sure, I could probably do market research and find some idea that has a high chance of selling to someone, but that doesn't get me up in the morning - I have to be genuinely interested in the thing I'm building first and foremost.
That's not to say I don't try to evaluate my own ideas and see what has a chance of selling, but it's not the primary concern.

No, never will either.
