I have not done it personally, but from people I see that have (1) They build in public to attract views/engagement, and (2) legally, it would probably be cleaner for you to set up a separate legal entity; or at least keep clean records of revenue/expenses for the project. Point #2 is not a deal-breaker if not done , but easier to deal with when going through due diligence.
