Sounds like youâre one of the few entrepreneurs who should âthink inside the boxâ.
Sorry for the bad pun. Welcome (back) to WIP đ
I think the best way is actually to dive in and see how others are using it.
Perhaps we should have a better way of finding makers to follow (based on your personal interests, time zone, etc). So you get better examples.
Iâll also give some thought to your idea of having more of a guide. If you any suggestions or questions youâd like to see answered, please let me know!
Making it easy to find other similar (active) makers is a great idea!
I've noticed I've naturally just found people I vibe with over the last few days, but I've made an intentional effort to be part of the community instead of just passively sharing updates.
Are there any specific âfiltersâ youâd like to see to find relevant members?
Anything youâd like to know about them, thatâs not currently visible in the profiles, before reaching out?
And finally, how do you prefer to reach out? Iâve been considering adding a direct message system to WIP
Hey Cat! Welcome to WIP. Seems like youâre working on a lot of different projects on top of being a mom. Not sure how you manage it all đ
For your work projects, do you feel like they tie together well (e.g. progress with one project, makes the other easier) or does it divide your time and attention?
Itâs something I still struggle with myself, although I try to repurpose the learnings of one project into the next.
don't forget, 2 snails as well! đđ
One does not simply forget the snails! (insert Mordor meme)
It isn't one of those immortal snails is it?
đ new weekend project coming đ inspired by @cat wip.co/projects/immortalsnail
Mostly because I have to keep going! đ (That and a LOT of Death Wish coffee. I'm pretty sure I could single-handedly keep them in business.)
They definitely tie in! I wouldn't be able to do everything if they weren't. (Even super moms have a limit!)
â Substack + Medium are my content marketing platforms that lead to Brandcrafters Guild (membership community) or 1:1 consulting work. (đ€)
â Scale With Words is the newest add-on, but not really because I've been ghostwriting since 2008. I just took a break, and I'm moving from freelancing to building a brand (that I could potentially one day sell). The great thing about Substack and Medium is that they're public content and can be used as a portfolio (and for leverage to get published elsewhere, increasing my reach/visibility for more opportunities with ghostwriting).
It just looks like I have a lot going on because I separated them into different projects to make sure I'm staying accountable to my goals and not neglecting anything.

ahh true! just bought the domain! want to give it a spin :P?
MoRâs take on more risks, so they also have stricter requirements than a payment provider such as Stripe.
I know of at least one instance where an indie maker randomly got their MoR account suspended with no recourse. This can also happen at Stripe, but it seems less likely.
As for accounting, you probably want to hire a professional for this anyway (itâs not your core business), so you can let them take care of it all.
Yup, my accountant takes care of it indeed. It's just something I was wondering about as it might be cheaper to have an MOR instead of letting my account take care of it.
But in my case, my clients are just Europe and US (and UK) so it's still fairly easy to take care of.
