still so f'n determined to figure this out, so I created a different file for each MacOS architecture option. Plus, I created a Linux version with Mono backend (as opposed to IL2CPP, which was the option I chose for the other Linux versions). My file naming convention is obsessive, so it should be clear for testers which is best for them.

Uploaded v3 for all platforms, including in-browser play. Considering I gave myself 24 hours to do as many of these game upgrades as I could (and that I had to figure it out & piece it together myself), I'm pleasantly surprised I got through 5/9 planned upgrades.

made a Quit Game button for the game & figured out how to make it, code it, and assemble it all together in Unity to make it work. AND IT DOES 😻

FIXED IT! Players are still trapped in the game because there's no exit button 😈

Uploaded v2 of the 2d platformer & added a devlog update. (Multi-platform play will be in v3.) teaandtachyons.itch.io/sky-mi…

figured out why I didn't have the option to save the game for MacOS and Linux! I'm adding those modules to Unity Hub now & will upload v3 of the game on Itch soon (ideally after I figure out how to program an esc/exit).

Wrote a devlog for game to list what's coming in future versions of the game

published my first video game on itch.io and brainstormed ways to go beyond the scope of the Skillshare class, like learning how to regenerate health & "shielding" against enemies

add screenshots of game to itch.io (sharing because I forgot to save screenshots to my computer to upload & need to put them somewhere to save properly)

started creating a(nother) plant language for this botanical horror story (interactive fiction & TTRPG) because who's gonna stop me? Tricky part is making it different from the first plant language I made for carnivorous song trees since this is through the mycelium network
#lore 😂
check out Twine for interactive fiction since I want to create a "choose your own adventure" style litRPG but still want to keep it digital. I figure having a virtual interactive experience is best. (PS It's grimdark botanical folk horror and will come with its own playable TTRPG for Patreon supporters 😈)

Record gameplay for a friend. What makes my shitty gameplay even more hilarious is this person is a professional game developer/programmer, and I kind of really want to impress him 😅

Decided to get serious about my tiny creative studio (including building games, publishing fiction, and pitching narrative design services), so I set a schedule to work on micro goals in 3 primary blocks (game dev, fiction writing, and professional dev) throughout the week each week
#lore
outlined one piece for my game writing portfolio to use to pitch studios. It's a narrative piece for a game idea I came up with that uses recursive world design/narrative layering, and I included sections for environmental storytelling, mechanics, and NPC interactions that deepen the lore (and more). Still need to write it out fully for the portfolio.

post about the text adventure game and new language on bluesky to be more active there (and find people who are my kind of weird)

Went a little feral last night and wrote nearly 3000 words about a a video game

in lieu of a whole "new year" post, at midnight (right now), I shared a poem I wrote
