I picked unconventional colors on purpose as a challenge, do you think it works?

Question

We wanted to do something different for UpDog design wise so I picked a retro beige and doodoo brown color scheme. I personally am very happy with the result but that might of course be due to personal bias.

Do you guys have any constructive feedback or remarks either on the visual style of the site, or on the effectiveness of the copy, and the understanding you gain of the product?
