Does anyone have any experience going through Google's review for using Gmail APIs?

I am using Gmail APIs to read user's inbox with offline access so that my tool can extract receipts and automatically categorise them to make life easier.

Google's telling me that I need at least 100+ users to go through the review process. But, I can't quite get there with a big red warning message to users saying that the app is unverified.

Has anyone faced this before? How did you deal with it?

Hey Jeff! I went through this process and also do the reassessment every year. Although, the first time I went through the review process it was like 2017 or 2018, so they didn't have a minimum user requirement at that time.

That doesn't really make sense to me either. Do you have a rep you can talk to? IIRC there was actually a limit of 100 max users for apps that haven't gone through review.

Let me know if you have any questions and maybe I can help đź‘Ť

@ScottWRobinson They have a limit and the annoying thing is that there’s a big flashy warning message for apps that have not gone through the review :(.

I don’t have a rep that I can talk to. If you’d have one, would really appreciate it. But at the same time, I’m also wondering if the whole assessment is even worth it for indie devs.
