Never joined one because of the pressure to have to read something at a particular rythm. I read a lot but itās sporadically.
Same here, having a hard time committing. Book clubs normally choose a book to read and have weekly reviews (on chapters, etc).
Unless if you just want to see what people are reading, then maybe can create GoodReads profile list to follow.
Anyway, we had related posts before: wip.co/posts/what-are-you-reaā¦
Same. I so want to love book clubs because I'm an author and copy editor (and voracious reader), but it's the perceived demand that comes with it that turns me off.
I ended up going to a half ai paper reading group / half coworking, and it's actually been really good! Met interesting builders and learned a lot.
I think they are good. The people are usually the problem.
Haha #facts
I try to read for pleasure - fiction, or non-fiction subjects I'm interested in. Have yet to find a group in my circles of people wanting to read anything but self-help/productivity/whatever. That stuff bores me to tears.
Iām attending a local book club for a year now.
For me it helps to be more disciplined in reading.
One that I enjoy: maneetpaul.com/newsletter
Thatās a great idea
