What kind of video?

I can recommend ScreenFlow and Adobe Premiere Pro.

For video blogs you can try 'Pocket Video' plus do everything from your phone.

For easy video cutting and editing Sony Vegas Pro. Also as @pugson suggested Premiere is great, a bit more advanced with more options.

If you look to mix video with animation, go for Adobe After Effects and combine it with one of the scrips from AESweets: www.aesweets.com

Those will save you tons of time and are pretty easy to learn.
