Nice domain! Some general feedback from me:
- Make the input type "email" instead of "text"
- Add links to the testimonial author's Twitter
- Looks like you are using quite a few different fonts, font weights, and font sizes; I would make these consistent
- Is this free? If so, then add to copy
- The vertical padding around the error box (e.g. "Email address is invalid") is too big
- The copy under the title doesn't use full stops, which for me makes the page look less legit
- I would have a "Built by @petecodes" somewhere, given you are well known on Twitter!
Thanks man! Nice ideas (including mentioning my name)
A unique approach, I like it! I too dislike the idea popularised by BookTok to read N books per year; this kind of "make number go up" style of reading feels pointless and disingenuous.
I'm aligned with you that it's far more important to be intentional with your reading, and read broadly (avoiding "must-read" lists), in whatever form that consumption may occur — be it books, articles, papers, or Wikipedia!
Wow, that was a compelling read, thank you for sharing. I have little advice to offer, apart from to say that most good things in life stem from consistency and routine. If you ever find yourself in London or Japan, I'd love to meet up for a coffee walk or impromptu laptop club session.
Given your depth of reflection, I'm curious: what are your must-read book recommendations? You seem well-read, and I'd be interested in exploring some of the works that have shaped your perspective.
Thank you, @revcd! Both for your reply and your offering.
There are many authors I'm interested in and plenty of books I'd love to read, but the truth is I don't have the bandwidth for reading many books. So a decade ago, I pivoted to reading about books and authors, mainly on Wikipedia, where I spend an hour or two every night hopping from one interesting article to another. This gives me culture and a broad perspective on many topics, which I enjoy and find helpful in life, though it's admittedly a shallow understanding.
This might be considered sacrilege by many, but here's how I see it: many books that would take weeks to read can be distilled into a few key ideas and pages that can be absorbed in an hour. So instead of comitting to a single book for weeks, I read the encyclopedia and explore a broader range of topics and authors with the same effort.
I do read books as well, though not that many. When I do, I often summarize them on Wikipedia, as I did, for example, with Marriage and morals by Bertrand Russell, which has deeply influenced my views on love, freedom and happiness.

Welcome to the club! Some general feedback (viewing on desktop):
- I'd think about reducing the CTAs from two to one
- I think the CTA copy could be improved for the buttons
- The subtitle is pretty long! I'd try and cut this down to something more bitesize
- Going to
/register
and then pressing back gives you "Application error: a client-side exception has occurred" - Some of the spacing seems a bit off, I'd play around with making it flow better
- Seems strange to name the plan "Pro" when there is only one plan
- IMO having "How does it work?" before "Clients Results" makes sense
- Link to the articles in "Featured In" by clicking on the logos
- Text in FAQ answers should be left aligned
- Should "Start Sending Pitches Now" button go to register page?
- Missing legal policies and an email address
Welcome! 👋
Nice idea! Do you watch @wildhomestead? Some feedback:
- Update your page title, it has "made with softr.io" in it
- Can you group and/or order the filters, they are hard to parse currently
- IMO I would remove the spacing between paragraphs in the header
- And also format the text to make it more readable on the background
- Replace "The Shire" with a good example
- Not sure if the voting mechanism is adding much value if guests can vote?
- I can't click on a location, do they have dedicated pages?
Yes I do! Crazy guy always swimming in that snow covered river😂 If you like that, check out Project Kamp, it's one of the reasons I started this website.
- Made with softr is limited to the tier i'm currently using
- I'll look for a way to group the filters. That's a good one.
- The spacing in the paragraphs, you specifically mean the space between the single sentences?
- I got a lot of comments about the Shire. I thought it was a nice gimmick. But seems people find it confusing. I'll remove it.
- I'll look in to the voting mechanism. I don't think I can change it in Softr.
- It's a good thing you clicked on a location! I'm actually testing it out to see if people actually click there and "expect" details on the Homestead Location. So this is great feedback. I want to keep the MVP small tho, so adding a detail page is something that i'll do when the product is validated.
Thank you so much for taking the time to roast my site!
Ah, you're encountering the age-old problem of asynchronous recurring tasks, better known as cron. Your current GitHub Actions workflow is a clever workaround, but it might not be the most efficient or scalable solution in the long run. Given that you're already using specific tooling for your product, I'd suggest one of the following options:
Alternatively, you can roll your own solution. For example, #daylang runs in a single Docker container on Railway. This container bundles the API, cron task emitter, and cron task consumer as a Go application.
Each approach has its merits, so choose the one that best fits your stack and workflow.
I've built two products in the past that I thought were interesting but didn't click:
- Extracting common questions from a creator's audience so they can do Q&As
- Summarising comments on each video, and across an entire channel, to understand what a creator's audience is discussing or requesting
Nice work! Some general feedback:
To answer your questions:
Yep! Very clear, only improvement would be to make the copy more concise, to have a better CTA, and maybe a demo video of the set-up process.
Nope!
Good, apart from the 10k limit. I'd also think about getting rid of the free plan, and instead showing what the product looks like via a demo video.
Hey Charlie 👋
Thank you so so much for the feedback. Couldn't ask for a more helpful response!
