That looks like an excellent and well thought out start. I have two comments. 1. Maybe start with what the audience gets from the website. Learning or thought leadership are both good reasons for people to visit your site. 2. Build an audience and remember to add in a mailing list, and maybe even an email series using an autoresponder. I like Swizec site swizec.com/ - it is a good example of a personal website done well. Hope this helps.

Start with what you want to achieve from the website and work your way backwards. There are three types of personal sites 1. Resume / link site - these provide some background and link to social media and other sites 2. Portfolio - presents your work, services and/or products and resume type stuff 3. Blog - which includes resume, portfolio and regular content. Maybe start with thinking about which of these three types of personal websites would work best in your situation. And add some personality, something different 'cos many of these sites look so much like all the others.

Congrats on launching. I think the message and value proposition on your landing page could be simpler and . Something like " right message to the right person" might be a useful starting point.

The traffic is decent, at least compared to #PagerTeam's normal traffic volume: normally I've bneen getting 5-10 users/day, so far today I have 169. Only one signup though. Not sure if that reflects a poor landing page conversion or if it's an indictment of the quality of the ProductHunt traffic. Do you have any thoughts?

Difficult question to answer. But, I can say this. If I am on Amazon, around $10-00. If buying from an expert on their own site, more than $10-00 is just fine (even much higher, like $99). I am not certain why, but I think I am happy paying a higher price to an expert that I have been referred to or have read some emails - they just seem more credible.

I have a couple of email lists for projects - between 200 and 800. Best tip for growing it - write regularly and have a subscribe button in the email itself.

I reached 2k+ subscribers with already 76 issues. Open rate is around 55%. To offer to access the content to people disliking newsletters, I have public archives outside my email provider (Mailchimp) mostly to have a better control of my content. To grow the audience, I tried to publish relevant content in the french-speaking FOSS community - my readers - in order them to join. I also blog about it on a regular basis. The first 1k subscribers were quite easy to get, now it's more difficult to grow and these days I try partnership with other french newsletters or blogs or websites to exchange visibility.
