Reading scripts from movies and tv series

I read screen scripts. Sometimes to remember a quote, or to understand a complicated story better. The first script I ever read was Matrix, probably 20 years ago.

So I created a website, which I hope will be the IMDB of screen scripts. I intend to collect scripts from movies, plays, tv-series, video games and podcasts in it.

You can see it here, although for the time being, it only has the TV series Friends, and I haven't added a lot of trivia yet.

The url is https://screenscripts.com/friends

Roast me, and wish your favourite script. I promise to give preference to request made here on WIP.

I have never launched this anywhere else, not on PH or Reddit, etc.

PS. Oh, and down the line I will release a framework based on this work, and the AI tools I use to transform material to script. I also hope to build a screenwriter bot at some point, using the data I got here.

The yellow logo and the font are reminiscent of IMDB, I feel like :)
Personally, I really like the navigation with multiple layers. Seasons, episodes and scenes. It was super easy to navigate through them. Most of the time having this many layers is too much, here I appreciate it.

What is your goal for this site? Community-led? Monetized? With ads or subscription?
How much work is it for you to add another script?

Can you elaborate on the plans you mentioned in the "PS"? I didn't fully get your intention.

I'm curious, where do you get your scripts from? In the past, when I wanted to read a specific line, I just googled and was sometimes lucky to find a plain text copy of it.

@SimJoSt Wow, thank you very much for that throughout review. Actually, regarding the layers, I was going to put the season and episode bar in a overlay that needs to be clicked on, and just keep the scene bar.

The goal is for it to become the place people go when they look for exact movie or tv quotes, or when they want to understand a story better.

Example of movies people historically have had difficulties to understand are Matrix, Inception, Mulholland Drive.

100% ad driven down the line.

The PS is just about taking this and making it into a free to host framework for large content websites. This site is completely free to host and will be up to like 50000 articles and 1M page views. The beauty of that is that you don't spend money besides on the domain until you know you are profitable.

The structure of the site would work for ecom as well, so a free to host and run Shopify competitor.

If you want people to use it for movie quotes, that I would focus building features around that. Like creating sharing URLs from user selected portions of a script that also have good link previews.
Or even an image generator with the quote on it.

It has that, just haven't enabled it in the code, but yes, that was my thought as well :)
