There are many art communities on the web, but I found no site that put the actual content front and center. As is understood in the offline world, picture art looks best on a big empty wall, but online we must consume it in a cacophony of UI. Hence I built Artiry. Also, Pinterest's algorithm works well for finding what visually appeals you, but the content is terrible and the UI is deeply offensive. I wanted Artiry to fully double down on this visual appeal and make entertainment the purpose. The idea was to have it make money with selling (framed) prints. Market for this is not very large and there's lots of competition. The idea was to get users on the site for the entertainment value of that itself. Unfortunately picture art is not engaging enough for that. So I just keep it online as something not intended to make money. I don't maintain it beyond just keeping the light on at the moment. I'd love to hear if you have thoughts about it. I still have a soft spot for the project.
Fixed domain auth for sent emails #artiry #tutoic
Fixed artwork upload page #artiry
Found that js error logging was missing lots of errors so did it by proxying console.error. Better now. Somehow hadn't implemented this yet but important to know my applications are also working well for others 🙃 #artiry
Added universal logging of client side (javascript) errors, including stacktraces and basic browser/platform info #artiry
