I start the day by reading a book and having a coffee. I feel like it's a great way to kinda set the stage for the rest of the day and be more intentional. Rather than reactive.

And then the other thing I think matters a lot is choosing the right books to read. I don't believe in reading a book because you feel like you should read it. I believe in reading books that you actually enjoy. So if you start reading a book and it doesn't really grab you in the first 10 pages, ditch it and try something else.

  2. Yes! I've bought books because people said "must read" in the past, but I could not get past those 10 pages. Then I read a book of about 1k pages and it was (to me) an enjoying and quick read (historical fiction).

Thanks for share, this is a good compass to stick to. Take-away I get now is we should read books (or start reading books) we enjoy as it builds the reading habit again, instead of reading what we think we "should" which then turns into a boring chore.

For me, that last page-turner was "The Pillars of the Earth - Ken Follett"
