Soft launching, I guess?

The first time I launched Scoutzie was 13 years ago. We did well, but couldn't scale to the size of a venture-funded company. Silly me ended up shutting the company down in 2015, but I never stopped thinking about it.

Fast forward to 2025 and my friend Kerry and I are relaunching it. No funding, no crazy growth targets, just two dudes and some AI bots, and a desire to help people to build and launch products faster, a lot faster!

I met Kerry many years ago because he was one of the guys that I listed on Scoutzie 1.0. He was smart, hard working, composed, and we just stayed in touch over the years. One day I called to tell him I was planning to relaunch, but before I had a chance to, he proceeded to tell me about this great idea he wanted to launch too ... Turned out, we were thinking along the same lines. I love to code, he loves to market, so it seemed like a perfect opportunity to work together.

Today Scoutzie 2.0 is a way to help clients build products with AI. Whether they are just getting starting and thinking through an MVP, or they are committed and want to go all in, we want to help. We'll see how it goes, and adjust accordingly.

To infinity and beyond!

Congrats on launching! Some feedback for you:

Seems like a completely different product in v2 (why even use the same name at that point?) and I have no idea what it does looking at the landing page. The language being used is super generic and wordy.

"Scoutzie helps you work smarter, launch fast and build an MVP users will love, and actually pay for."

Ok, but what the hell does that mean in practice? Is it a consulting service? A community? Not very clear where you are adding value if at all.

Less words, more images and clear explanations of what is happening would be more helpful than what you have now.

Hi Ben, thank you so much for the congratulations and for taking the time to share your feedback! I really appreciate your perspective. You’re absolutely right that clarity is key, and I hear you on the need for a more specific explanation of what Scoutzie 2.0 does and how it adds value. I also agree that using more visuals and concise language could make the message stronger. We’ll definitely take this into account as we refine our communication and approach. I wanted to launch early and iterate, instead of having all the perfect answers up front. It's comments like this that will help us to refine product. Thanks again for your thoughtful input!

Btw, to answer your question as to why go with the same domain:

1) I like it, it's meaningful to me
2) It already has a backlink on techrunch, plus about 700 other places.

It will take a while to resurrect domain rating, but I think it'd be easier than a cold start

@marc fun fact, you were one of the first to profile scoutzie 1.0 back in the day-- betalist.com/startups/scoutzie
