AimYear
#aimyear
AimYear turns the AI agent you already use (Claude Code, Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor) into an honest accountability coach. You keep one countable aim for the year, like "15 paying customers", split it into stages you can actually do, and pick one small main step each day. The agent starts a timer when you work and stops it when you're done, then shows where the time really went: the hard work toward the aim, or just more comfortable building.
Connect your agent at mcp.aimyear.com/mcp. That part is free. Pro ($49/yr) adds phone reminders, weekly reviews written by AimYear, and its own AI coach. Phone app coming soon.
I'm dogfooding it every day while building my other products, and posting the real numbers here.

fixed a planning bug in
#aimyear: when a day's main step wasn't done, the next day's plan still jumped to the next step on the path, so one bad day broke the order of everything after it. now steps keep their path order, an unfinished main step comes back the next day, and planning warns when a step skips undone ones
dogfooding
#aimyear on my own aim: the path tab looked wrong, and walking through it showed why. "15 paying customers" was the wrong number, 15 yearly plans is about $60 a month. the real aim is money: $1000 a month from my own projects by dec 31. two bets feed it: aimyear (~24 yearly plans sold in december) and worklore (one company paying for docs agents can follow). each can reach it alone, i chose to try both. the app only has one straight path, so next: tracks on the path screen, the aim in the centre, each bet a tab you can focus on.
built an anti-pomodoro timer for
#aimyear: no 25 min alarm telling me to stop, just planets. the outer one goes around once an hour and every hour adds a moon. mac app is signed and running, server 0.9 live with revenuecat
Shipped
#aimyear 0.6 after going through my own user stories. An aim can now be countable ("15 paying customers") or simply done or not done ("Launch v2"), and so can each stage on the way. Routines got a bad-day minimum, so "talk with one person on WIP" can shrink to "like and read 3 updates". The weekly report now shows full, minimum and skipped days separately, so a small day still counts and nothing breaks.
Tried to talk with people on Reddit (r/indiehackers): founders building pitch stages, skill marketplaces and procrastination apps. Biggest lesson from one thread: everyone hates a nightly "why did you skip it" form, but they want to see the pattern behind the skips

Published
#aimyear in the official MCP Registry and tested sign-up from ChatGPT and Claude with fresh accounts. The test caught the exact problem AimYear exists for: ChatGPT planned a job-search day that was all CV polishing and income audits, and no applications. Now the server warns any agent when a day has no hard step, and preparation only goes in when it blocks the hard one.
