The story behind
I built the first AimYear on advice I believed: keep your life in balance. Health, money, relationships, work, happiness. A little progress in each.
It didn't work, even for me, and I wrote it.
My routine was already in place. Kids, sport, Spanish, sleep: those habits run without an app. People talk about small daily improvements that pay off over 5-10 years. I didn't need another improvement. I needed one important thing to happen soon. And whenever it got hard, I quietly swapped it for easier work that still felt productive.
So I rebuilt AimYear around that. One countable aim for the year. One small step toward it every day. My own AI agent starts and stops the timer while I work, and tells me honestly where the hours went.
I've been dogfooding it since September: 56 sessions and 45 hours in the first 3 weeks. The lesson so far: I build much more than I sell. Paying customers: still 0. That's the number I'm working on, and I'll post it here every week.
