I don't have too much experience with affiliates (for SaaS products), but the little I can share is that affiliates work if you work hard to convince good (and great) content creators or products related to yours and pay high commissions. You have to push hard.

On the other hand, my experience with affiliate requests (people who want to be an affiliate of your product) is that they are a waste of time. These affiliates usually don't get any sales...

But this is just my experience and opinion :)
