Money always comes first for me since I'm a single parent, so freelancing is about 70-80% of my time. (Fortunately, some of what I do is game writing, so I get to have fun a lot.)
I only have two other projects: building my own studio and learning game development. The studio will make me money (membership & products); the game dev not so much right now (learning & making tiny video games). For these, I mostly prioritize by interest, but if people really want things I'd create through the studio, I'll prioritize that.
It depends what season you're in, though. What's your (or your audience's) core need right now, and which project(s) meet it?
