Have you bought a SaaS business before?

I'm thinking about buying a Shopify plugin, theme or store that's already making money. Has anyone here done that? Do you suggest it?

I am good at building products but not marketing, so I was thinking this would be a good jumpstart to get product market fit.

I haven't, but I've often considered it. I'd like to know others experiences around this also.

I think for me the barrier is in justifying the upfront cost + running costs + maintenance time reqd vs the MRR. Typically SaaS co's (that I've seen) for sale want a valuation == 2 years MRR.
