isolate why email sending doesn't work, we can telnet into mail.pieter.com at port 587 but not port 25 from Windows 3.11 via ISP, even smtp.gmail at port 25 doesn't work, but 587 does, so maybe 25 is blocked somewhere in the outbound ISP #pieter
