Ex systems programmer that loved work, but was turned into an American Reggie Perrin whose escape is being engineered with AI, Claude Code and big dreams.
Sprint reprioritized around revenue. Completed AI Search foundation docs. Ace marketing automation next, then prospect outreach. Shipped YouTube digest skill and unified task system across all agents. Non-revenue work moved to backlog.

Wrapped up infra sprint — Syncthing shared filesystem live across all 3 machines. Social posting deployed to Ace (X, LinkedIn, WIP, Blog all verified). Mission Control sync script rewritten. Infrastructure debt cleared. Now it's time to sell things. 🚀

Wrote up 17 days of Trader-7 paper trading results: +10.7% return, 3.83 Sharpe, and the stale prompt that just cost me $95 → jamiewatters.work/journey/2026-02-16 #llmtrader7

Building 11 products. Refused to run 11 social accounts.
Asked 5 AI systems for advice. All gave the same answer: founder-first, products as credibility infrastructure.
@aisearchhq is now live — dormant spoke pointing to my main account.
Untested hypothesis. Will report back.

Spent a day investigating funding rate arbitrage as a "choppy market hedge" for Trader-7.
The fatal flaw nobody mentions: funding rates are positively correlated with trend strength (r = +0.45 to +0.65). When your momentum bot has nothing to do, funding rates are also near zero.
The hedge fails exactly when you need it.
Add in the US jurisdiction problem (Coinbase = 2% round-trip vs 0.2% offshore) and it's a hard no at our capital level.
The best feature is sometimes the one you don't build.

**Monster 24 hours:**
✅ **Completed ModelOptix MVP** — AI model cost optimization tool, ready for beta
✅ **Completed 2 phases of PlebTest** — idea validation platform getting close
✅ **Spec'd + coded API access for AImpactScanner** — programmatic AI visibility scans incoming
✅ **Trained my business agent on LLMtxt Mastery** — it now knows the product, pricing, ICP, objection handling
✅ **Phase 1 multi-agent Clawdbot unlocked** — running 2 specialized AI agents: one for strategy/planning, one for business/sales
✅ **Drafted Trader-7 blog** — "The Crypto Hedge That Fails When You Need It" (funding rate arb analysis)
❌ **Failed:** Couldn't get Claude Opus 4.6 working via Max plan. Model exists but auth isn't playing nice yet.
Building the machine that builds the business.

✅ Published: "The Smartest Developers I Know Left Their Brains at the Door"
New blog post + LinkedIn + X thread on the psychology of developer trust with AI agents.
The thesis: even seasoned devs leave their brains at the door when AI agents impress them. The better the tool, the less we scrutinize it. Wrote up the pattern I keep seeing, my own 7-bugs-to-production story, and a 5-point guardrail framework.
