My girlfriend spent months refreshing hermes.com hoping a bag would appear. It never appeared while she was watching. It always appeared while she was in the shower. So I built something that watches for her. 33 countries, 7 categories, alert in about 10 seconds. Then The Row. Then other people wanted in and it turned into an actual SaaS with actual subscribers, Telegram, WhatsApp, LINE and SMS alerts, and an affiliate program.
spent 5 months thinking i had a demand problem. turns out my scraper was filing earrings as handbags, which made the "restocked" counter fire every time a different category got scanned. 46,491 fake restocks. 239,677 real emails about them
