Question about freemium model

Let's say you're offering a freemium product. Which let's users to signup to the app and subscribe to pro version. User can also create an account and keep using the free one. 

In that case, will you create them as new customer in MoR/Stripe (when new account is made) or Create them as customer only when they subscribe to paid version?


Unless you're using something like the trialing feature of your MoR, there's no reason to share your customer data with them before they actually subscribe.

For #whatpulse (freemium), the customer object is only created when they subscribe.

Thanks for your input @smitmartijn it makes sense.

Depend on the product, one good case to capture these free users is to for an email funnel to convert them.

Some people just haven't ready to subscribe! Something might help (ie discount, cool new feature)
