I am considering this at the moment as well. We are doing both. Outbound sales = valuable feedback in the short term to get you closer to problem/solution fit. Content marketing = long term free/cheap customer acquisition.

It's not the answer you were looking for but I've found Brain.fm to be really effective for getting into flow and producing good work.
